Frazer Madder

Frazer Madder died on 16 November 2016, aged 71. In many ways what the Scottish Motorsport Marshals Club is now stems from his real passion for the Club and what it did and does for motorsport in Scotland and beyond.

Roger J Reed - Funeral Arrangements

Roger Reed's funeral will be at 11:45 on Thursday 5th, in the West Chapel at Aberdeen Crematorium, post code AB15 8PT

Family flowers only please, but donations may be made to Roger's and Pat's preferred charity Friends of Anchor,  via the following link https://www.justgiving.com/rogerjreed
(Please take notice of the "J" between "Roger" and "Reed", there is a similar page without the "J" which is for a different Roger who collects for a different charity).

If you donate through that link every penny of your donation will be passed on to the charity, and if you take care to tick the box to confirm that you are a UK tax payer, your donation will be increased by a quarter, representing a "Gift Aid" refund of basic rate tax and enhancing the benefit to the charity.

ANCHOR is the Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy, a department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary which treats patients with all forms of cancer, leukaemia and benign blood disorders throughout the North-east of Scotland including Orkney and Shetland. Roger was treated there during his illness, and formed a great respect for their work.
Friends of ANCHOR is a registered charity number SC025332, and was set up to directly support the ANCHOR unit by committing long-term funding to the following three areas:
  • Medical Equipment - Investing in the latest technology to continually develop and improve cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Patient Wellbeing - Offering additional care, comfort and support to patients during their time at the ANCHOR Unit.
  • Local Research - Funding leading clinicians’ research in Aberdeen to push the boundaries in the fight against cancer.

Roger J Reed

It is with deep sadness that we have to tell you that Roger Reed died earlier today in hospital in Aberdeen, after being diagnosed with lung cancer last year.

We knew Roger for his contribution to motor sport in Scotland for more than 40 years -  as a competitor and organiser, and MSA Steward, and for 26 years as the Chairman of the East of Scotland Association of Car Clubs then the Scottish Association of Car Clubs.  Roger also served on the MSA Regional Committee, and 19 years on the Off-Road Committee.

This left the problem of what to do with all his spare time, so he also sang in a choir and volunteered to run enterprise classes for  high school pupils.

Roger will be sadly missed by his wife Pat, and by a host of friends all over the country.
