Autotest Training Day

Following the autotest demonstration and passenger runs at the recent Ignition Festival at the SECC, Scottish Sporting Car Club is delighted to invite you to an Autotest Training Day being held at Irvine Bay Events (formerly the ICI Nobel explosives plant), Ardeer, Stevenston, KA20 3NF on Saturday 1st October 2016.
The day will comprise of two events.
Firstly we will be running training sessions for those new to Autotesting, or those wishing to improve their skills. We will have experienced competitors on hand to advise and guide you. No special equipment is required, all you need to do is bring your car. If you are 14 or over or don't hold a full driving licence you can still enter provided you have a reasonable level of car control - unfortunately we are not equipped to provide basic driving lessons! If you are under 18 you need to have a parent or guardian with you during the day for insurance purposes.
After lunch (we will supply filled rolls, juice, hot drinks, etc.) we will hold a competitive event. This will allow you to use your new found skills while having an experienced competitor sitting beside you to keep you right. It's ok if you don't want to compete at this point - why not stay, help marshal and watch the fun? There will be regular competitors running alongside you so it should be entertaining.
The tarmac at Ardeer is very smooth, and the whole day is designed to be gentle on cars. A standard road car and tyres should not suffer at all.
The cost for the day is £15 including Club membership until end of 2017, entry to the event and lunch. We anticipate running from 09:30 to approximately 16:00.
Registration details will be sent out soon, but in the meantime please put the date in your diary, join our facebook group (just search for Scottish Sporting Car Club) and have a look at our website - www.ScottishSportingCC.co.uk.
