SACC and the Future of Stage Rallying

If you follow any of the social media channels, it seems that everyone and their dog have a view on the future of forest stage rallying. A common thread is
that the governing body, the MSA, is either doing nothing or is intent on bringing an end to this form of motorsport.
Nothing could be further from the truth. On the contrary, the MSA, working together with the Forestry Commission, have already taken firm and decisive action to secure the immediate future of events and is working tirelessly to protect the longer term.
For example, the senior organisers from all the multi venue stage rallies in Scotland are working together by learning from each other with the aim of establishing ‘best practice’ in terms of all aspects of event safety. This was one of the key recommendations of the Scottish Government Safety Review.
The Scottish Association of Car Clubs is playing a full role in all of this by representing the interests of member clubs and in turn, their club members. You might not be able to see all of this from where you sit but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
