Welcome to SACC April update. 

I am David Law and I am going to be working as communications co-ordinator for the SACC. I plan to create a newsletter style report quarterly with past and future event news; details of what clubs have been up to, links to regulations, along with any information from the SACC/MSA to help bridge the gap between the SACC and your members. The McRae Rally Challenge is a 30 mile, two day rally spectacular primarily celebrating the 20th anniversary of Colin McRae winning the World Rally Championship. Fully backed by all the McRae family, Jimmy McRae is helping on our organising committee to bring together rally stars of the past, the present and the future, showcasing all the best eras of rallysport in the UK.

Disability Motorsport Scotland Launch

Disability Motorsport Scotland is launching on Tuesday, April 21st at 10am, Knockhill Race Circuit with the Scottish Minister for Sport and BTCC Champion (and President of SACC) John Cleland in attendance. 

DMS are an Association that develops motorsport participation for disabled persons throughout the country, free of charge.

Stravaiger's Lodge Rally time Trial

Welcome back to the Highland Car Club, Stravaigers Lodge, Rally Time Trial.

We are heading back to Inchnacardoch forest and the usual paddock, whilst revisiting the original stage that loops the paddock last used in 2012. This gives us an increased mileage to just under two miles of stage and for a very low price of £199.

SACC RTT CHAMPIONSHIP - March Report

The first round in the championship was held at Glen Gorm Castle near Tobermory on Mull. The course was a private estate track approximately 1.3 miles in length. The weather was mixed all day, with sharp showers at regular intervals although with some brighter periods.

… Bunfight at Bridge of Allan … This is going to upset a few folk. So be it …

The Scottish Association of Car Clubs held their AGM and regular meeting last night in central Scotland. For the first two hours it was like watching the slow death of a kid’s favourite R/C car with a set of cheap rechargeables running on their last spark. No wonder that many of Scotland’s 50+ car clubs don’t bother to turn up to such meetings.

John Cleland (President of the SACC) and John Fife (Press) were invited to a meeting yesterday (11th March) at the Scottish Government’s offices in Leith. It was enlightening, positive and upbeat. It was also decidedly scary! … Be fearful, be very fearful …
